Welcome to the home page of the Winnie Poo Club, an Illinois Chapter of Winnebago International Travelers (WIT) club.
We are located nearly at the center of the state with Peoria as our main base. We have members spanning ages from the early 50’s to those who have been participating in the pleasures of group camping with a camping club for many years. We actually still have one active couple who are charter members of our chapter.
This group enjoys many kinds of activities: we have been taking group tours whenever and wherever possible with those tours taking us to such places as a candy factory; a hammer factory that has been furnishing hammers to Sears for over 100 years; a 5 story mansion being restored; to a lead mine; thru several divisions of Caterpillar, Inc, including their foundry at Mapleton, their big engine assembly plant in Peoria, and their plant in Pontiac. We have also toured a 4 story octagon shaped house with a circular stairway extending from the basement to the attic and running water before its time.
We have entertained each other with some crazy, fun group activities such as an airplane flying contest, a wet t-shirt contest; and many full- participation group games.
We welcome any Winnebago Industry owners, who are members of WIT and are looking for a group of people to camp with and those who enjoy good fellowship, lots of fun, adventure, and having the opportunity to share motorhome tips and experiences.
Our club was established in 1973 and has been very active each and every year since that time. We are proud to say that our chapter has received the chapter of excellence award from WIT every year since 1999.
If you would like to ask any questions about our club or get an application to join, please feel free to email any of our clubs officers.
